A Remarkable Natural Setting
Estero Morúa & Its Oyster Farms
One of the most remarkable features of Tessoro is its setting between two very different coastal environments. The Sea of Cortez stretches along one side of the resort while Estero Morúa lies on the other.
The estuary is shaped by the dramatic tides of the northern Gulf of California, creating tidal flats and coastal habitat that support birds, marine life and a thriving local aquaculture tradition.
Estero Morúa is also home to local oyster farms, where oysters are cultivated in the waters of the estuary. For seafood lovers, visiting the oyster-farm area offers a uniquely local Puerto Peñasco experience and the opportunity to enjoy fresh oysters close to where they are grown.
The oyster farms are not directly accessible from Tessoro by land. Although they can be reached from the resort side by water, visitors traveling by vehicle can reach the oyster-farm area from the main road outside Las Conchas.
